Apple pie: tasty recipe by Post Gries Hotel Bolzano
Ingredients:
Dough:
150 g white flour
100 g butter
100 g icing sugar
1 egg
1 packet of vanilla sugar
a bit of grated lemon peel
1 pinch of salt
Filling:
600 g apples
50 g sugar
50 g breadcrumbs, toasted in some butter
40 g raisins
20 g pignoli
2 tbsp. rum
1 packet of vanilla sugar
½ teaspoon cinnamon
a bit of grated lemon peel
Preparation:
- Peel and core the apples, cut them into small slices and mix them in with the sugar, the breadcrumbs, the raisins, the pignoli, the rum, the vanilla sugar, the cinnamon and the grated lemon peel.
- Pre-heat the oven.
- Roll out the dough on a pastry board, covered with flour, so as to make it become very thin, put it on a baking tray spread with butter or covered with baking foil.
- Put the apple slices on the dough and wrap the strudel in the dough.
- Spread the strudel with the whisked egg, decorate it with the remaining dough stripes and bake it in the oven.
- Sprinkle icing sugar on it.
Baking temperature: 180 degrees, Baking time: 35 minutes
