Markets in Bolzano: some hints by our Hotel

Fruit and vegetable Market

from Mondays to Saturdays
The famous "Obstmarkt" with local and Southern European products is in Bozen's historic centre.

Saturday Market

On Saturdays the usual car park at Sieges Square is transformed into a large grocery, fruit/vegetables and clothing market. Rummaging about among the stalls and haggling is great fun.

Flea Market

Every first Saturday of the month a whole host of curiosities, rarities, junk and knick-knacks are on sale along Wassermauerpromenade close to Talfer Bridge in Bozen, from 8 am to 5 p.m.

Farmers' Market

On Tuesdays at Mazzini Square
Fruits and vegetables according to the season, juice, honey, eggs, herbs and flowers on sale. Every farmer has his own stall.

Flower Market

On 1st May, the previous and following days – depending on when the bank holiday falls - a large flower market takes place at Bozen's Walther Square and along Muster Street. A great variety of flowers, plants and scrubs, all sorts of colours and scents, are offered to the customers.

Christmas Market

Before Christmas one can feel a very peaceful and cosy atmosphere in Bozen. Streets and squares are decorated with bright garlands, the sounds of carriages and horses with their clattering hooves come from the narrow streets, the smell of fried chestnuts invites to have a taste.

At every corner there are small, decorated stalls. They offer traditional, handmade products of wood, glass, ceramics, attractive Christmas decoration or delicious Christmas sweets. If you have no idea of what to buy for Christmas, surely you will find the right thing at Bozen's "Christkindlmarkt".
If you feel cold and look for a little bit of heating up, have a glass of "Glühwein" (hot mulled wine) or hot apple punch, served in one of the original "Christkindlmarkt" cups, or a cup of hot chocolate at the "Sacher"-House.

The wonderful atmosphere is enhanced by festive Christmas music. Going for a stroll through Bozen's tastefully decorated streets and squares should really make you feel looking forward to Christmas.
